The Suicide Pool's beauty lies in its simplicity. However, not a season goes by when someone doesn't get rubbed the wrong way because they are incapable of grasping all the nuances. So with that in mind, I've taken the liberty of attempting to address the varied minutiae that could lead to confusion, disappointment, and ultimately defeat. Yes, I know you old Suicide Pool salts will find this unnecessary, perhaps even insulting. But trust me: every year some situation arises which makes the following necessary. SUICIDE POOL RULES

  • You are allowed to pick one team each week. Your team must win outright; no point spread is used. If your team loses or ties, you will be out of the pool. If your team wins, you will advance to the following week.
  • You may not pick the same team twice during the season. If you pick the same team twice, you are out. You can check your picks for previous weeks by visiting the Picks Archive. This page will have links to a complete list of each weeks picks. IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT YOUR PICK, PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK BEFORE MAKING IT.
  • PICKS ARE DUE 5 MINUTES BEFORE SUNDAY'S KICKOFF EACH WEEK (1 PM EASTERN). The website will automatically post a list of the current weeks picks at this time. You will be unable to enter your e-mail address or make your pick. If you do not make a pick for that week, you are out.
  • IF THERE IS A THURSDAY NIGHT GAME AND THE TEAM YOUR ARE PICKING PLAYS ON THURSDAY, YOUR PICK WILL BE DUE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THURSDAY'S KICKOFF. If you're not picking a Thursday team, you can make your pick all the way up 5 minutes before Sunday's 1 PM Eastern kickoff.
  • If you are unable to access the web page, you can send an e-mail to flash.afd@gmail.com with your pick. Please try and use this as a last resort as the website should always be available and is a much more reliable method for submitting your picks.
  • Any picks received after kickoff will be invalid. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be able to enter picks on the system starting Tuesday morning. It's advised that you enter your picks as early as possible.

ENTERING PICKS

1. Visit http://nflsuicide.kosmodrome.com anytime after 6 A.M. Tuesday morning to enter your pick.

2. You will be asked to input your name and e-mail address and will choose your pick from a drop-down menu.

3. After making your pick, you'll see a confirmation page stating that a confirmation e-mail has been sent to the e-mail address you entered.

4. You should receive an e-mail confirmation listing your pick within 15 minutes. Please check your spam filter if you don't get an e-mail; the subject will say "Suicide Entry for..." IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THIS CONFIRMATION, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT flash.afd@gmail.com

Here's how the system works: When you enter a pick, your pick gets updated into our system. You also receive a confirmation e-mail with your pick. A confirmation e-mail also gets sent to me for archival purposes (this e-mail goes to a special account and doesn't get viewed by me unless there is a problem). In the past, we've never experienced any problems with the system, only issues due to human error. Sometimes it's as simple as forgetting to hit the "submit" button. CONSIDER YOUR CONFIRMATION E-MAIL YOUR GOLDEN TICKET.

IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE PICK, THE LAST PICK YOU SUBMIT WILL BE THE ONE USED FOR THAT WEEK. All picks are time-stamped, so it's always clear when your pick was made.

If you have more than one entry, please designate numerically, ie: John Smith 1, John Smith 2, etc.

PRIZES

The pool ends after the final REGULAR SEASON GAME. We do not deal with the playoffs. Ties will be split evenly.

You cannot arrange to split the payout with other players before the season ends. We play until the last player is left standing or there is a tie at the end of the regular season.
